Frequently Asked Questions
What is StaalXneXt?
StaalXneXt is a digital B2B marketplace operated by StaalX LLC that connects Buyers with independent Sellers of steel products, including reinforcing bars (rebar), merchant bars, coiled rebar, wire rod, coils and other steel products.
Through the Platform, Buyers can request quotes, compare offers, and transact directly with Sellers for both on-ground inventory available for immediate shipment and future or forward-order material with longer delivery timelines. Sellers control pricing, availability, and delivery terms.
StaalXneXt facilitates the transaction process by providing tools for quoting, payments, optional financing, and—if requested—logistics coordination or trade support. StaalX LLC does not manufacture, own, or sell steel products unless expressly stated.
Delivery timing depends on the Seller's inventory, location, and agreed terms, and may range from expedited shipments to scheduled future deliveries.
Do you deliver, or can I pick up material?
Both delivery and pickup options may be available on StaalXneXt, depending on the Seller's listing and agreed terms.
Many Sellers offer delivery to the Buyer's specified location. In addition, some Sellers allow Buyers to pick up material directly from the Seller's warehouse or facility. Available delivery or pickup options, along with any applicable requirements or instructions, are disclosed in the listing, quote, or during checkout.
For on-ground inventory, certain orders may be eligible for expedited or next-day delivery, subject to Seller readiness and carrier availability. For longer-haul shipments or forward-order material, the Platform will display the earliest estimated delivery window based on the information provided.
If delivery is selected, StaalX LLC can help coordinate logistics at the request of the Buyer and Seller. Buyers may also enter delivery or pickup instructions during checkout. Where available, order status updates and tracking information may be provided through the Platform and via email.
StaalXneXt does not act as a carrier and does not guarantee delivery or pickup timelines unless expressly agreed as part of a confirmed transaction.
Do I have to order a full truckload?
No. StaalXneXt allows Buyers to place orders smaller than a full truckload, including orders as small as a single bundle, depending on the Seller's listing and availability.
That said, trucking costs are a significant component of total landed cost. Orders below full-truckload weight may be subject to partial truckload (LTL) or delivery fees, which vary based on distance, carrier availability, and Seller terms.
As a general guideline:
- Orders below approximately 45,000 lbs may incur partial truckload delivery fees.
- Orders at or above approximately 45,000 lbs may qualify as full-truckload shipments and may avoid partial load fees, subject to carrier and Seller requirements.
Freight estimates are calculated based on the origin warehouse, destination ZIP code, and load weight. Estimated delivery fees, where applicable, are displayed during the order or checkout process so Buyers can evaluate total cost before confirming an order.
Final shipment classification and delivery costs depend on logistics arrangements, carrier rules, and the specific transaction terms agreed between the Buyer and Seller.
How do I place an order on StaalXneXt?
Placing an order on StaalXneXt is designed to be transparent and flexible:
-
Browse or search listings — Buyers can browse available listings or use filters and search to find exactly the products they need based on size, grade, condition, origin, and availability.
-
Review pricing and specifications — Each listing displays detailed product specifications and pricing set by the Seller, allowing Buyers to compare options before selecting material.
-
Select delivery or pickup — Buyers choose between delivery and pickup. If delivery is selected, Buyers enter a destination ZIP code to receive an estimated freight cost calculated based on the origin warehouse, destination, and load weight. Buyers may also choose pickup where available.
-
Apply promotional code (if available) — Buyers may enter a promotional or coupon code to receive a discount on their order. The discount is validated and reflected in the total before checkout.
-
Review total cost — Before checkout, Buyers can review:
- Material pricing
- Estimated delivery or logistics fees (if applicable)
- Processing fees (varies by payment method selected)
- Financing fees (if a Pay Later option is selected)
- Promotional discounts (if a coupon code is applied)
- Total order cost
-
Select payment method — Buyers can choose from available payment options, including:
- Credit card
- ACH bank transfer
- Net 30, Net 60, or Net 90 terms, subject to credit approval
Processing fees are calculated based on the selected payment method and displayed before confirmation.
-
Add instructions and submit the order — Buyers may include delivery or pickup instructions—such as contact information, receiving hours, operating days, and appointment requirements—and submit the order for confirmation.
After submission, the Seller reviews and accepts the order. The Seller may set a final price if adjustments are needed, which the Buyer must approve before payment is captured. Final acceptance and fulfillment are subject to Seller confirmation and agreed transaction terms.
What happens after I place an order?
Once an order is submitted on StaalXneXt, the following steps take place:
-
Order confirmation — The order is created and the Buyer receives confirmation. Payment is processed based on the selected method (card charged, ACH initiated, or credit reserved for Pay Later orders).
-
Seller review — The Seller reviews the order and accepts, declines, or adjusts pricing if applicable. If the Seller sets a final price, the Buyer must approve or decline the adjusted amount before the order proceeds.
-
Fulfillment and shipment — The Seller prepares and ships the material or coordinates pickup. Order status updates are provided through the Platform.
-
Delivery and receipt — Upon delivery, the Buyer confirms receipt through the Platform.
-
Post-delivery adjustments (if applicable) — For orders where material is sold by weight, the Seller may submit a weight adjustment if the actual delivered weight differs from the estimated weight. The Buyer is notified and must approve or decline the adjustment. Approved adjustments result in an additional charge or refund based on the weight difference.
-
Completion and review — After the Buyer confirms receipt, the order is completed. Buyers may leave a review of their transaction experience.
Can I cancel my order?
Order cancellation on StaalXneXt depends on the Seller's terms and the status of the order.
In general, Buyers may request cancellation provided the order has not yet been accepted and shipped by the Seller. Once an order has been shipped or marked as delivered, it is generally not eligible for cancellation.
Orders that involve custom, future, or forward-order material may not be eligible for cancellation or may be subject to additional conditions or fees.
Buyers should always review the cancellation terms displayed during checkout or in the order details. If a cancellation is requested, StaalX LLC facilitates communication, but final acceptance of the cancellation is subject to Seller approval and agreed transaction terms.
If payment has already been processed, a refund will be issued to the original payment method upon successful cancellation.
What payment methods does StaalXneXt accept?
StaalXneXt supports multiple payment options to give Buyers flexibility at checkout:
Immediate payment:
- Credit cards — A processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 applies.
- ACH bank transfers — A processing fee of 0.8% (capped at $5.00) applies.
Processing fees are calculated and displayed during checkout before the Buyer confirms the order.
Pay Later options:
- Net 30
- Net 60
- Net 90
Pay Later options require a credit application and approval by StaalX LLC. A financing fee based on the selected term length is added to the order total. The fee amount and payment due date are calculated and displayed during checkout before the Buyer confirms the order. A saved payment method is required for Pay Later orders to enable auto-charge on the due date.
Available payment methods may vary based on the Buyer, Seller, transaction size, and risk or compliance considerations.
Buyers may also save payment methods (credit cards or bank accounts) for faster checkout on future orders.
How do I apply for credit or Pay Later terms?
To access Net 30, Net 60, or Net 90 payment terms, Buyers must submit a credit application through StaalXneXt.
The application requires business information including:
- Company name and business type
- Phone number
- Annual sales range
- Requested credit limit
Applications are reviewed by StaalX LLC, and approval is based on creditworthiness and business profile. Approval is not guaranteed and may take several business days.
Once approved, available Pay Later options and the approved credit limit will be displayed during checkout. A saved payment method is required for auto-charge on the payment due date.
Are there any promotional discounts or coupons?
StaalXneXt may offer promotional codes or coupons from time to time. Buyers can enter a coupon code during checkout to receive a discount on their order.
The discount amount is validated and displayed in the order total before the Buyer confirms the order. Coupons may be subject to expiration dates, usage limits, and eligibility requirements.
Will my information be shared as a Buyer or Seller?
StaalXneXt is designed to protect user information while enabling efficient transactions. How information is shared depends on the Seller's preferences and the payment method used.
Buyer & Seller Visibility:
- Sellers on StaalXneXt may choose to list products under their company name or anonymously.
- Buyer and Seller information is not publicly disclosed on the Platform.
- Seller identity may be disclosed during inquiries, during a transaction, after completion of a transaction, or not at all, depending on the Seller's choice and applicable requirements.
- Information may be shared where necessary to complete a transaction, coordinate logistics, process payments, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
Payment Flow & Information Sharing:
- Immediate payment (card or ACH): In many cases, Buyers may pay directly to the Seller, and only the information necessary to complete the transaction is shared.
- Pay Later / financing through StaalX: If a Buyer chooses Net 30, Net 60, or Net 90 terms facilitated by StaalX LLC, the Buyer pays StaalX, and StaalX pays the Seller according to the agreed terms. In these cases, StaalX may collect and share additional information as required for credit review, payment processing, compliance, and recordkeeping.
StaalX LLC does not sell user information and limits information sharing to what is reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, facilitate transactions, and comply with legal or regulatory requirements.
How do I become a Seller on StaalXneXt?
StaalXneXt is currently an invitation-only marketplace. This approach helps maintain a trusted, high-quality trading environment for both Buyers and Sellers.
Sellers may join StaalXneXt in one of the following ways:
- Direct invitation from StaalX LLC — StaalX LLC actively invites vetted and reputable Sellers—including mills, distributors, traders, and qualified suppliers—to participate in the marketplace.
- Invitation through existing Sellers — Certain Sellers, depending on their subscription level, may be able to invite additional Sellers to join StaalXneXt, subject to Platform rules and approval requirements.
- Apply to be invited — Prospective Sellers may submit a request to be considered for an invitation. StaalX LLC reviews all applications, and if a Seller is determined to be qualified and aligned with Platform standards, an invitation will be issued.
All Sellers must complete onboarding and agree to the Seller Terms & Conditions, comply with listing standards and material condition definitions, and meet ongoing compliance and performance requirements. Sellers must also set up a payment account (via Stripe Connect) to receive payouts for completed transactions.
What subscription plans are available for Sellers?
StaalXneXt offers tiered subscription plans for Sellers:
- Basic: Access to the marketplace.
- Silver: Marketplace access + ability to send up to 4 marketplace invitations per month.
- Gold: Marketplace access + up to 10 marketplace invitations per month + a branded Storefront page.
Subscriptions are managed through the Platform and billed via Stripe. Sellers can view and manage their subscription from their account settings.
What are Storefronts?
Sellers with a Gold subscription can create a branded Storefront on StaalXneXt. Storefronts allow Sellers to showcase their company to potential Buyers and build trust within the marketplace.
A Storefront may include:
- Company logo, banner, and about section
- Product ranges and categories
- Facility locations
- Certifications and compliance documents
- Photo gallery
- Promotional videos
Storefronts are publicly accessible on the Platform and help Buyers learn more about a Seller before transacting.
Are mill test certificates (MTRs) provided?
Mill test certificates (MTRs) and other certifications may be made available on StaalXneXt depending on the Seller and product.
Sellers with a Storefront may display certifications and compliance documents on their Storefront page for Buyers to review. For specific transactions, Buyers should confirm MTR availability with the Seller before placing an order, as inclusion depends on the product grade and Seller's terms.
For most graded material (such as ASTM A615 or A706 products), Sellers typically provide mill test certificates. "No Grade" material does not include mill test certificates, unless expressly stated otherwise in the listing or agreed between the Buyer and Seller.
Buyers should review product specifications and documentation requirements before placing an order.
How does StaalXneXt handle claims and returns?
Claims and returns on StaalXneXt are handled in accordance with the applicable Seller's terms and the Platform's Claims, Warranties, Cancellations, and Refund Policy.
If a Buyer believes that delivered material does not conform to the agreed specifications, condition, quantity, or documentation, the Buyer must submit a claim within the timeframe specified in the policy. StaalX LLC facilitates communication and review of claims, but the resolution of a claim—including refunds, credits, replacements, or returns—is primarily the responsibility of the Seller, subject to the agreed transaction terms.
In-Platform Disputes:
StaalXneXt also provides an in-platform dispute mechanism. If a Buyer believes delivered material does not meet agreed specifications, they can submit a dispute directly through the transaction page with a description of the issue. StaalX LLC will facilitate review and resolution, which may include cancellation or confirmation of receipt depending on the outcome.
Post-Delivery Weight Adjustments:
For orders where material is sold by weight, the Seller may submit a weight adjustment after delivery if the actual delivered weight differs from the estimated weight. The Buyer will be notified and must approve or decline the adjustment. Approved adjustments result in an additional charge or refund based on the weight difference.
Claims may require supporting documentation, such as photos, delivery records, or inspection reports. Certain materials (including "No Grade" products or forward-order material) may be subject to additional limitations or exclusions, as disclosed at the time of sale.
For full details on eligibility, timelines, and procedures, please review the Claims, Warranties, Cancellations, and Refund Policy.
