Meet Murat Askin
Founder & CEO of StaalX
Murat Askin is the founder and CEO of StaalX LLC, a newly established e-commerce and international trading company focusing on automating trade, optimizing sales, logistics, and finance. StaalX aims to streamline transactions and deliver value to both buyers and sellers.
Prior to founding StaalX, Murat was the head of metals trading for Tata Group in the Americas since 2010, and president of Tata International Metals Americas Limited (TIMAL) in the Chicago area. Under his leadership, TIMAL, a key player in the import and export of metal products, significantly expanded its operations. Murat more than doubled its volume, tripled its sales, and diversified its product and geographic portfolio to include 15 major product lines across long, flat, and tubular products.
With a career spanning over 30 years in the steel and metals industry, Murat has held several high-level management positions, consistently driving growth and expansion.
