Fastco Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of custom cold-headed fasteners, serving customers since 1970 from its manufacturing campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The company specializes in producing high-volume custom studs, bolts, rivets, pins, screws, SEMS fasteners, and engineered specialty components using advanced cold heading, thread rolling, and secondary machining processes. Fastco serves a diverse range of industries, including automotive, construction, heavy equipment, office furniture, appliances, recreational vehicles, and industrial manufacturing. With an IATF 16949:2016 certified quality management system, extensive engineering capabilities, and a strong commitment to zero defects and 100% on-time delivery, Fastco provides prototype-to-production manufacturing solutions while supporting customers with inventory management and just-in-time delivery programs. Custom Tooling
Fastco maintains a full service tool room ready to meet today’s demand for speed and precision. With in-house tool making capability, Fastco aims to meet the needs of its customer in the shortest possible time. With lead time at a premium, our in-house cold heading tooling capability can support the customer’s needs for quicker samples and shorter lead time for revision level changes.
Cold Heading
Ranging from diameters of 2.5mm to 19mm and lengths of 10mm to 225mm, our cold heading department offers a wide range of possibilities made possible by a variety of cold forming equipment manufactured by Nakashimada, Sacma, and Jern Yao.
Thread Rolling
Fastco Industries’ uses the latest thread rolling technologies offered by manufacturers Saspi and Sanmei. Whether it is roll forming, SEMS product, special rolled features or standard threads, Fastco is ready to meet and exceed its customers’ expectations.
Sorting & Inspection
Fastco possesses a full line of laser and vision inspection systems to ensure full compliance to customer requirements. In addition, eddy current inspection can provide an additional level of assurance for meeting customer hardness and tensile specifications.
Distribution Center
Conveniently located in Northwest Grand Rapids, Michigan, Fastco offers distribution center support the on-time delivery requirements of its customers.
Our History
Fastco Industries was founded in 1970 by entrepreneurs Arvin Tap and Steve Frantz, initially building the business through hands-on manufacturing and a strong customer-focused approach. Over the decades, the company expanded into one of Michigan's leading custom cold-headed fastener manufacturers, growing its manufacturing footprint to approximately 150,000 square feet and investing heavily in cold heading, tooling, threading, machining, and engineering capabilities. Today, under the leadership of President and CEO Bruce Tap, the second generation of family leadership continues to modernize the business by emphasizing operational excellence, employee engagement, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing practices while maintaining the company's long-standing reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation in engineered fastener manufacturing.
