Our History
Four Generations of Steel Experience Byer Steel's roots date back to 1937, when the Byer family established a scrap business along the Ohio River in Cincinnati. The company expanded into steel processing and, in 1970, launched its unique rebar rolling mill designed to reroll retired railroad axles into reinforcing bar. Over the following decades, the business expanded its rebar manufacturing and fabrication capabilities. A dedicated rebar fabrication operation was added in 2012, and in 2014 the company's operations were consolidated under the Byer Steel name. Today, Byer Steel continues as a fourth-generation family business focused on rebar manufacturing, rebar fabrication, and commercial industrial recycling from its Cincinnati facility.
